What is Generalized Anxiety Disorder?

People who are susceptible to GAD

Although it is possible for anyone to develop generalized anxiety disorder, there are a few people who are more venerable to developing this disorder. People who have had a disturbing and miserable childhood could easily have high anxiety levels. People who are under a lot of stress in either their professional or personal lives could also be at risk for developing certain personality disorders. Some are of the belief that people who go through grave illness or have someone close to them in that situation, could develop anxiety disorders. It is also possible that some people are genetically prone to develop such disorders. In anyone in your immediate family has anxiety related issues, it is possible that you may also have them as well.

Overcoming General Anxiety Disorder

Prescription/herbal medications, therapy and lifestyle changes could assist a person in overcoming general anxiety disorder. In case your worries are excessive enough to restrict you to lead a life that you wish you could consider that these worries are much more than normal levels of stress. Some people worry about small thing which a normal person would not even think twice or only worry about it on exceptional occasions.
